Volunteer Opportunities

From processing Missouri's state and local records to facilitating access to those same records, volunteers allow the Missouri State Archives to fulfill its mission of serving as a research center for the study of Missouri's history.

Volunteers in the Missouri State Archives' programs take on a variety of duties to help the Archives achieve its goals. These tasks include:

These projects, requiring many different talents and skills, are integral to the operation of the Missouri State Archives. Volunteers ensure a higher quality of service for all our patrons. In addition, volunteers meet new people, brush up on office skills and equipment, gain proficiency in history and research, and take a part in preserving Missouri's fascinating history. The Missouri State Archives provides orientation, training, and supervision to all volunteers.
